Let’s talk televisions guys.....

So it’s about time for a new tv, my current 55” Vizio is losing a few backlights so I’m gonna replace it with a 65 or 70” but I’m not current on what to look for or to avoid. Gonna fix the 55” and put it in the garage or bed room. Your thoughts and opinions are appreciated. Not trying to spend more then 1k.

I bought some TVs in 2015/2016. Both are 60".

1st LG 60" 4K UHD ($1400 at the time)

2nd Vizio 60" non-4K ($700 at the time)

Both TVs perform pretty close to each other, the Apps on the LG are a bit better and cannot be updated manually on the Vizio. For the money I should've just got 2 Vizios. The new thing is 8k (from what I have heard some coworkers mentioning). Another coworker bought a 65" tv for less than 700. Not sure how it performs.

I have been looking at replacing my living room tv soon. I will more than likely be picking up a 65" TCL, the price is great. Also since I already run all my tv thru sling on a roku it makes even more sense to get a tv on a roku platform.

You can get a 65" LG C8 OLED for $1769 shipped from eBay. They also have a 65" Samsung Q80R QLED for $1799 shipped as well. Really can't beat those prices right now.

If anyone has visited the Detroit vs Detroit thread in the last 24 hours, a new member posted a YB link to a decade old thread... I thought it's slightly comical
