Is it permissable by law for an employer to randomly check your driving record without consent? We aren't referring to a pre employment screen, just a random check? Then issue the employee a random written warning?

Non vehicle driving employees

I know my company does it. I believe only for the employees that drive company vehicles though.

If you operate any company owned equipment of any type i wouldn't be at all surprised. All the trucks at my job are equipped with drive cams. Not allowed to eat or drink anything while the vehicle is in motion. GPS equipped too. Big brother.

I know for my work the insurance company does it bi-weekly and reports any changes. Only for employees who drive company vehicles. Totally legal.

I have to report anything that happens to me while driving If I get a ticket in my own car I have to report it and if don't I can be terminated but I drive for a living

after so many points they won't let you get behind the wheel anywhere on or off the property
page 6 of employee handbook

yea but I don't drive vehicles and haven't received a violation in 5 years. My last violation was a 5 over which was lowered to impeding, regardless I refused to sign the document.

It's public record.
I understand that, however the drivers privacy protection act it clearly states only in the normal course of business to verify accuracy of personal information, an employer may obtain information relating to the holder of a CDL which I don't have

Don't be surprised if they do a credit check as well.
Credit/Driving/Criminal/Tobacco/Drug.....
Look over what you signed when you were first hired..... My guess is you have already given them premission
