Lawn Help

So over the summer something killed my back lawn and I'm trying to figure out what did it. I have never had issues with the grass before and I thought it was just dry from the heat, So i watered it and fetilized it and still nothing. It is DEAD, like nothing will bring it back and was wondering if anyone of here could help me figure out what happened to it. The only thing that will grow now is weeds and I still don't understand that because I used weed killer and its like I used miracle grow instead. Either the stupid neighbor behind me killed it by draining his pool or some sort of bug killed it. Can anyone help or know of any good places downriver that could help?

half of it is dead, the other half has patches everywhere. and the parts with grass still alive has weeds all over it. It is rediculous

its grubs...i got the same thing..fall is the best time to put seed down, it will start growing in 1-2 weeks.
Do I do anything to kill the grubs? My lawn is kentucky blue grass, do I just use the seed you get at home depot or lowes and is there a better kind of seed than other?

look up "how to overseed a lawn". Make sure the seed is dated this year... the newer the better. Yes seed has a date. rake all the dead grass thatch out of the lawn. Lay down seed generously, put a thin half inch layer of good top soil over it, and kind of rake it in... and just keep it watered after that, and dont walk on it... the new grass should be there in no time.

Do you have dogs? Dog pee is killing my grass all over the place. Lazy turds can't walk to the back of the yard and pee. They have to do it 6" from the patio.

Yeah I have 2 dogs, but the area they go in is actually green and health. I orginally thought it was my neighbor draining his pool and it pretty much flooded half my yard and figured the chlorine killed it, but most people seem to think grubs

Usually with grubs, they attack the roots. Sometimes grass that looks healthy is in bad shape underneath. Go check the grass and see if it pulls up really easily.

Grubs and weeds were really bad this year, I've heard from many many people the same thing. One of the companies that sprays lawns by me sent out an apology letter to customers and was doing extra sprays to bring the lawns back

If it s lawn disease it has to be contained and treated first or you are waisting your money. I would call TruGreen and let them assess it, they are good!

my parents use this john deere brand fertilizer aparently its what all the sod farms use it works really good we had the best yard in the subdivision i will ask them tonight where to get it
