Land around Saginaw

Just curious here. One of the guys at the Fire Dept father past away, he was a previous Chief of the department. He had an old farm around Saginaw, no bldgs now just 40 acres of woods. He's talking about getting it logged out and then selling it. I know woods can sell for about 2-4 grand an acre here depending where and how nice the woods are.

What do woods go for an acre up north by you guys ?

Anybody know of anybody that logs woods out, not somebody just cutting firewood but a reputable logging outfit ?

If you have anything feel free to post up or PM if you want to keep it quiet.

Thanks.

My experience is with our family's land in Wisconsin...but it's a point of reference at the very least. Anyway, $2k-$4k per acre seems a bit pricey...but I know geography plays a large role in dictating price. In north central WI, decent hardwoods is going for about $2000-$2500 per acre (generally speaking).

Logging-wise, it would depend on whether it's select cut or if they go through and really clean it out that will determine its final value.

Thanks. I know he said the trees varied in size from 6-8" trees to some very large trees 3' plus in size, IIRC.
