Kidney Stone help

Woke up at 2 a.m. with severe pain. Thought maybe it was food poisoning. Drank some Gatorade and puked it all. At 5 a.m. went to emergency room cause it was so bad. They did a cat scan and said I have 2 kidney stones to pass. Never had any before.

Advice ?
Stories....

Drink lots of water. My wife gets them a couple of times a year. Once it was too big to pass and she had to have surgery to remove it.

Yeah. The way they told me they get them out on a guy sounded like a real good time...Hoping they pass on their own

I've never had them, but from what I've heard, one of the procedures they do is use shock waves to break the stones into smaller pieces, then you pass them out when you pee. It appears to be a non-invasive procedure, but passing them is no fun either from stories I've been told.

It feels like your pissing out razor blades. You will know when there coming out you will see blood in your urine. Lots of fluids, some drinks help break them up

I wasn't told about shock waves. He said they shove a tube up you and pull them out. Through the urethra !!!

A friend use to have them often years ago. He was told to
add something acidic to his diet, he drinks a large quantity
of water with a little pure lemon juice added to it.

He can't say for certain that it cured him, but he does testify
that he has never had another one since he started his lemon
water diet.

If I ever had stone problems, I'd research this claim a
little further.

Ok, I'm cringing....

Although a guy I knew a few years back had them a lot, he basically expected it.
He said it was because he drank a lot of coke/pop and that was the cause.

I have no idea on any of this though, or than I don't want to experience it.

Well what's crazy is I have been doing the keto low carb stuff with lots of water. But the doc said protein and creatine can cause then.

Damn....I never really put it into perspective like that....crazy.

39g of sugar in a 12oz can. For reference purposes, if you take 2 teaspoons of sugar in your coffee, that's 8.5g for a 12oz mug.

stones can develop if the consumption is abnormally high with tea, yams, tree nuts, chocolate, soy stuff, & black pepper.
Monitor your salt intake & see if you're taking in too much sodium.
You mentioned you're doing keto/ lo-carb, are you taking in a higher amount of proteins now? If you are & the protein is mostly [if not all] animal protein stuff, you may consider a bean/legume protein (peanut butter is a legume)

Tea may not be a huge factor to stones developing if the tea is loose leaf versus a bag. If bagged tea is used a lot, then yes, very susceptible to stones. Mainly because of the phthalates used to make the bag and what ever to preserve the tea in the bag.

Just went through this, The Dr. said it's compareable to a woman giving birth and that is no lie, excruciating pain. He said "next time drink beer or anything that makes you go a lot like beer or if it smells or looks like beer drink it and lots of it!"

But honey it's NOT a problem. ,the Dr said too.

Excessive protein intake is not good for kidney health. Get off that keto diet and eat more fruits and vegetables. Drink lots of water. Good luck.

I've had one, Doc said probably caused my drinking a lot of Pepsi and not enough water. Something about dark pops causes them. I woke up and thought my wife had stabbed me lol, went straight to ER and after three different pain meds I was wasn't ready to kill someone.

They gave me some med that made the tube from my kidney to my bladder expand so it was easier to pass. Mine came out 24 hours later. For me peeing it out was easy, it was it going from the kidney to my bladder that sucked.
