Has anyone ever gone to the Kent. Derby? I need to find a close hotel but I have never been there before... any suggestions?

If you want to go let me know... it really isn't a lot of money because we are driving down there Thursday after work then pretty much just have the hotel for Sat and Sun.

You can sneak in all of your alcohol and bring all of your food so you won't really have to buy anything there and the tickets to get it aren't really expensive my friend paid $45 for both days last year

I know that but you forget that would involve me taking time off of work, both jobs LOL. Plus the wife would probably want to go to and whats the fun of bringing sand to the beach right!!! LOL JK

Well you are only really taking one day off from your normal 9-5 job and then if you tell the bar months in advance that you can't work that weekend I don't see why it should be an issue because your giving them a lot of time in advance... plus if "the wife" came it would be fun!!! :)

You wouldn't go without her... You would be crying the whole trip that you miss her... :thefinger

I know I know i can take time off whenever i want but im really trying to pay off my bills so i want to work as much as possible. Plus im sure ill be taking time off in the summer due to the boat.

okkkkk then... well if you want to go and bring anyone let me know... we are for sure going unless we can't find a hotel room that is a decent price
 
Three parties that you must attend once in your life (or so I'm told).

1) The Kentucky Derby

2) The Indianapolis 500

3) The 12 Hours of Sebring

I have been to the last two. And if the first is anything like the others, you are too late for a room. Most rooms become available a year in advance and many make their reservations for the following year as they are checking out. And if you find a room, it won't be cheap. Good luck.

Yeah we were thinking about camping out... but it supposedly rains at least one day every year and getting ready in the camping bathroom ( dresses and stuff) doesn't really sound that appealing...


We found some hotels that weren't THAT bad but they only come with one bed and the cots are first come first serve so idk we are in the process of figuring that out right now

Sleeping Bags... Use em or bring a air mattress...

where are you sleeping thursday and friday night? Louisville is only maybe 6 hrs away..
