Just my new beer fridge

Well what do you guys think? Just finished this up last night. Its a 1952-1953 Philco. Got it for $75 out of the basement of an older gentlemen and proceed to redo the whole thing. Probably about $350 invested total and 40 hours but I think it came out sweet. Its Olympic White and Tropical Turquoise with a red pin stripe. Also the leaf was hand painted gold.

Don't plan on selling it but anyone have any idea on its value? If it ends up being pretty valuable I may get it appraised just for insurance.

Really cool (no pun intended), did you have to do anything with the refrigeration system or was everything still functional?

No idea on value.

Fridge was in perfect working order when I picked it up. Seams like these older systems run forever. Temperature selector works perfect too.
 
That fridge is phenomenal! WAY better than anything you could buy new. I don't know value but a Big Chill Retro fridge new is over $3000.

And you sir know your beer. Nice selection! :)
 
Great job. That thing is gorgeous.

If I remember right old refrigerators used ammonia as a refrigerant. If you ever have a leak you will know it.

Actually this fridge is one of the first to use refrigerant. Not sure on the type but no ammonia in this one.
 
Amazing work. Definitely get it appraised. Philco was destroyed (bought) by Ford in 1961, when the ceased to make consumer electronics and made OEM Ford radios until their demise in 1981. Little history lesson for you all :)

I have a Philco radio in my 1971 Pinto. AM turd. Lol
