Just dropped off the Z06 rims at QC Coatings...

Sup fellas?

I just dropped off my rims at QC Coatings, but I would like opinions.

QC Coatings has three settings for PC. A flat black, satan black, and a glossy black. I really, really wanted between the satan black and the glossy black, but they don't have that option. I was told that the glossy black is really glossy, that it requires a lot of maintance, is not as durable, and is prone to a lot of fine scratches. So, I went with satan black due to their recommendation. Well, now I am having second thoughts. What would you guys recommend/chose for a yellow Z06? Glossy or satan black?

Opinions would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Mc guard makes black lug nuts I have them for my truck they are tuff coated

Hmmm, I wonder if they will fit my car...:dontknow:

I will have to find out

You should be able to paint your centercaps. I would clean them really well, start with a primer, and then shoot them satin black to match the wheels. With the proper prep work it should adhere just fine.

Personally I too would be torn between satin and gloss black. I had an S-10 in college where I cleaned up the wheels and painted them satin black. But they looked much better glossy when I cleaned and armoralled them. I would have preferred to have just painted them gloss black.

Are you keeping the lip silver or polished? I hope so, that looks so SWEET! Good luck!

Well, the wheels don't have a lip. It is the stock wheels getting powder coated black. So, I am getting the entire wheel blacked out.

Where do I get this prep kit to paint the center cap satan black?

I am really starting to lean towards the glossy black. I might call them and change my order. They said I have till Wed to change my order. Man, why does this have to be so difficult...:dontknow:

for thecentercaps, spray oven cleaner i like a jug or somthing u can put a lid on and have the cap or caps in it or a few minutes and then wash them *shouldtake the chrome off th plastic* just dont leave them 2 long, then get some like 320 grit or finer paper and go over them to scuff them up, then prime, sand the primer down some with the 320 grit again then lay the color down * like 3 or so coats untill covered* then clear

white with yellow caps

It was a joke notice the race thing at the end if you get down near Livonia I can loan you one of those lug nuts to try

Cool, thanks for the link. I can just call them and ask if they fit on the Z06. I wasnt aware that GM used the same lug nuts for that long..

Also, those look like they are glossy in the pic. Do they have a glossy finish to them, or does it just look like that in the pic? Thanks man.
