Just a dumb question.

I am curently switching from shortys to long tubes. Is it worth the work? 302 with cam and heads stock bottom.

" I had a exaust leak and had the parts, Just wonder about performance gains"

ive always heard that longs are better than shorts... if they werent then nobody would go through the total headache of trying to route the tubes through everything

Very much worth it on a HCI car. They make much more torque through the mid range and hp on top end. So yes it's very well worth the work. Specially since there's so many options for a mustang and most usually fit prety well...

Well its a headache but They will be in in the afternoon sat. I got a great deal on the long tubes and H pipe. Had to order a steering shaft diddnt fit the rag joint. But it was a little loose anyway. Not looking forward to the work but ohwell. Its a basket case car with an expensive engine in it. lol stock bottom end Dart pro 1 heads 195 intake systemax intake and ford F cam. Liberty T5 with 295 1st and centerforce clutch. Car not worth the trans lol.

These things suck to install. Have to move everything, Clutch cable speed cable. starter power cable. New steering shaft. Lol better sound good. 2 hours into installing them and dont have a single bolt in. ROFL.

my old MAC's didnt require moving anything, just jacking up the front end up. Slipped them in from the top.

well, they don't install themselves while your on MM! haha. By now I don't see how any LT header for a fox would require a ton of work compared to a shorty. The problems you listed don't really sound TOO major. Joys of working on cars, you'll always run into a hiccup or two.

Well there in the car. the things I had to move were my fault. I routed the clutch that way. Its not that bad. But I worked at a dealer for 10 years. This shit on my back sucks. The drivers side slide right in from under the car. The passneger side was a neat trick but its in there. I will finish everything in the morning. Had the intake off also. Lots of little things to finsh. My hats off to you guys with big block install now. I bet headers on a big chevy in a fox is not fun.

BBK! It was not that bad but not fun at the same time. The big issue was the rag joint hitting. (Flaming river shaft was not cheep) past that just patients required.

Well Its done and driving. Im not sure what made the change but it feels like an aminal now. It was not running so good. Couldnt tell ya if the Intake leaking oil was also causing performance issues or the long tube with new 02 sensors. Im sure it was not the new plugs. But I just had a rolling race with a SVT/ Boss with a 125 shot NA like a 99 or so sode pipes and such. From what he said. And he diddnt beat me by much. He could not belive what I have in my car and kept up. I'm on cloud 9 right now. And no I dont think my car is fast. Would be happy with a 12 anyting.
