Its a miracle I'm still alive!!!!

Ok, so Saturday night i get into this wicked bad accident on deachdaly and west Chicago. Apparently i started a series of rolls then struck a pole whal about 10 feet in the air! ( I say apparently because i don't remember a damn thing from the accident!) I suffer 5 broken rib's, both lungs were punctured, my collar bone is cracked, my pelvis is broke in 3 places and occasionally collapses( EXTREMELY PAINFUL!!) Punctured liver, cracked sternum And i had no insurance on the stang:eek5: I'm in pretty rough shape but I AM STILL ALIVE AND STILL KINCKIN!!!! I'll tell you what, when i recover and buy another project stang the first mod is going to be a minimum of a 8 point roll cage!!!!

So all and all, I'm just glad to be alive!!!!!

WOW, that is unreal. Glad to see you survived that. I would have never have guessed the driver survived if all someone did was show me pictures of the car.
 
Holy shit! You survived that and Dale Earnhardt died gently brushing the wall? Glad to see you're ok (you know what I mean). I'm sure the car is pretty well scrapped but probably could find someone buy the engine and trans.

The last thing i remember is unlocking my car and getting in. ( That was on Saturday) My next memory is being in U of M hospital with all kinds of tubes sticking out of me. ( That was on MONDAY AROUND 4:30pm!!!) I totally lost 1 1/2 days of complete memory! Very, very weird! I guess the hospital told my mom and dad to call the family to come to see me for the last time on sat night. The hospital didn't think i was going to make it very much longer. Kinda weird to wake up you have no idea where you are at and your whole family is crying around you! Wont forget that one anytime soon!!
 
wow. i'm speechless. you're lucky to be alive for sure. inquiring minds are still wondering what the heck happened for you to get yourself in this position???

I have mixed feelings about how good a cage will do you without a helmet. Padded or not.

1 human head + cage if you become a human missle is not going to have good results. Although, it will keep the local EMS and Fire department in business.

Why does EMS insist on resuscitation?
Repeat customers, of course. :)

I agree, unless you are wearing a helmet all the time, your head hitting the cage will hurt more than sheet metel.

Any idea of what you were doing to loose control like that ?
