The company I work for is moving to a new building. As part of the move we would like to put in a new data server. Is there any companies you might recommend? I have gotten a quote from this company. http://www.idsi4it.com/. They have done work from us before. But management is kind of in sticker shock at the moment. We will be moving to Clinton Township. Thanks.
 
Hmmm, nobody I know of. If it were me, I'd run Open Indiana (formerly Open Solaris) with ZFS in a RAID-Z2 config complete with deduplication, snapshots, and full workstation backups. That way, if a hard drive dies on a workstation, you can network boot it and install the full operating system intact and have nearly like nothing ever happened. ZFS is scales very high, and offers a level of data redundancy not found on even higher end RAID controllers.
 
Tin ~ That might be a bit over my head. I am a cad jockey. I have setup/built/repaired several computers over the years. But I have never setup a server. I am looking for a company to setup and maintain the server. The company I work for does not have any IT staff.

I called Huntington Technology, I have a meeting with them tomorrow morning. I also called Power Computers, I might meet with them on Monday. Lastly I called SMART IT they are located in Sterling Heights, I am meeting with tomorrow afternoon.
