Is there a local shop that might be able to save my ECM?

My ECM got wet, is there somewhere in the Detroit/Flint area that might be able to clean & restore the non-factory tune in it?

What happened to the tune that was in it? How was it flashed and by who?

I remember you had another post about this...did you to open the ecm and look at it? I could give it a shot cleaning. Unless the tune was erased electronically it should still be in the EEPROM.

Cliffnote;motor & trans are taken out & rebuilt. Tech installs both and now car will crank but not start. No RPMs are showing.
Everything is hooked up correctly and a new crank sensor is installed. Tech follows wires to ECM and discovers ECM is wet & suspects this is the issue. Not the first ECM to get wet in this car.
After looking at ECMs on Rock Automotive website, and talking to the local Autozone guy (their Mustang specialist too) it appears there are a lot of ECMs for my particular vehicle.
If I can save my current ECM and not have to have Pande retune it it'll save me some cash and from having to take another day off work to get the car on his dyno.

Via the internet I found a place called ECM Outlet on Griswold Street in Detroit, if they can't repair it they can rebuild it.

Chances are there is some corrosion on the drivers that are causing them to short out. This is usually an easy fix. I can have a look at it and save you some money and hassel if you like.

If I put it in a bag might I get condensation? Do the computers heat up much?
Can I take the tune out of the non-working computer and transfer it into the new one?
The car started right up once the new computer was installed.

The black ECM has the correct tune in it but does not work. The silver one is the new ECM with the stock tune. There is no chip from the black one that goes in that opening. Is there a chip inside the ECM I can remove from the black one and use to update the silver one?
