Irratic idle?

It's a 4.6 2 valve, PI heads with crower cams. It seems to idle up and down sometimes missing at idle in gear then eventually stalling. It never did it after Lidio tuned it about a year ago. Anyway the car is going to his shop for the 2.6 KB to be installed on Tuesday and I was wondering what to expect about the missing and stalling problem. It runs just fine when driving it. Any input?

Oh and all the plugs look good except #8 it was very black.

Mine does the same thing. It idles fine in P or N but when in gear it will have an irratic idle for a few seconds then clear up.Doesnt do it while driving or when any gas is applied...only at idle in gear.:banghead:
 
there is a value in the tuning software that controls how the IAC responds, that might need some tweaking, that fixed it for me... other wise maybe your IAC is going bad?

That parameter is called the dashpot decay rate, which is used on decelleration to control the IAC motor.
 
So this sounds like something that can be fixed when it gets tuned again. But I still dont know why #8 plug looked so bad. Im guessing thats the cylinder its missing on. Thanks for the info.
