iphone car docks...

You dont need a dock to run a 1/8" output. Grab yourself a 1/8" to dual-phono and plug it into the RCA inputs on your stereo. The only advantage a dock would have is making the iPhone function as a fixed line-out, instead of variable.

a) my stereo doesn't have RCA inputs.
b) i prefer a fixed (and often amplified) line-out
c) i want something i can just drop the phone into and have it hooked up to the car stereo and charge at the same time without having multiple wires hanging off of it.

i have a harman kardon drive + play, but it doesn't charge the iphone.

Hmmm...most line-out docks have a 1/8" output or RCA outputs. What sort of inputs do you have on your car stereo?

Dice electronics makes something like that, don't know if its a dock though.

it's not, and it's $170.00....

i'm just going to get this little guy

and then just use some generic mount.

I use this docking station from Magellan now this will amplifier your GPS on your Iphone and it's turn it into blue-tooth. For playing music, I have ZUNE that will plug in to the back of your stereo and then you can plug the other end into your auxiliary jack on your Iphone. This will allow you to play your music over your speakers, answer your Iphone via blue-tooth and you will hear the other party over your sound system in your car. The Magellan dock will also charge the Iphone at the same time and I've downloaded a couple of navigation application and everything works great.
