Intermitent speedometer

I put a 140 speedo in my '88 LX recently. Some times it works. Sometimes it doesn't. It has never come on or off while driving, it's either on when you hit the key, or not. Even when the speedo isn't reading, the odometer works. All the dash lights and other gauges work fine. Anybody have any ideas??

Anybody know of a speedometer repair place???

Could be the stepper motor, I'll get back to you with the number to a guy who rebuilds them.
