I think I do ok....

I got a miller "black" auto helmet I paid 175 for it 3 years ago an didn't like the color while welding. It has a green tint to it. I like a natural color lens. I used that miller helmet for about 6 months an went back to my old plain Jane Jackson, but hey u ever come to port Huron pm me I'll give it to u for free. It just sits on my wall collecting dust lol an Ill never use it again, mind as well pass it on to someone who can.

awesome... that would be a sweet... i have a buddy who lives out there and i can prolly have him grab it for me and bring it out this way since he goes to school out here.. i'll see when he is heading back that way.. thanks

Walking the cup!

Walking the cup FTW! When I was a pipe welder we used generator welders with scratch start Tig with out a foot control! At 19yrs old it was weird not have a foot peddle when u learned to weld using one lol. Josh defiantly has the hang of it by the looks of it!

Here's what that helmet looks like but I lil bit more rough lol

That sucks dude, I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't weld. There's a guy here at GD that I guess was as good as it gets, but he recently had a heart issue and can't even be around the machines anymore. They pulled all his certs.

I've never been a pipe welder, or even welded much pipe other than actually doing the certifying, but I picked it up(walking the cup) from an instructor I had at Chrysler's tech center and really dig it. I found some scrap 2 5/8 pipe and had to mess with it.

Well it looks good, it is so much faster once u get the rhythm going. Yea my Tig career is over for now, an only being 24 it sucks I had so much more left to learn with only doing it for 7 yrs. Now I gotta start over on something else. And most likely office work FTL.

Justin, looks pretty! If you ever want anything evaluated for porosity and penetration, send it my way and I can section it and take a look at the microstructure.

Good luck man, I feel for ya. Shit, I didn't even start welding until I was 24. Hopefully you find something you dig.

Right on man. We did some of that at the tech center at Chrysler, and dye pen, cool stuff. More of the same at GD, and when I go for the mig pulse and stick certs I believe we get x-rayed.
