I saw BORAT today

Buuhbye guy

nomnomguy "Got Milk?"
Im 50/50 on it right now, lets just say I wont go see it again, but I would rent it and after I saw it one more time on dvd I would return it lol. Some parts I could do without and some parts where funny original comedy never done before. I give props to Ali G thou he is certainly brave for some of the shit he pulls off in the movie and then alot of back lash he is gonna get from the Jewish community in the real world.

I however think I spoiled alot of this movie by watching trailors and everything else there is on Borat. If you seen the previews then you have seen almost half the movie already.

I heard talk on the radio yesterday that some woman allowed him into a real newsroom to observe and he disrupted the set so badly with his antics that she ended up getting fired and lost prettty much everything she had built up in her career. That's not funny if you ask me. Also, the stupid-foreigner stuff he does to me is a "repost" from SNL long ago when Ackroyd and Martin did the "2 wild and crazy guys" routine. :bored:

I think that Borat was fucking funny. I have been a fan for a long time, most people just started hearing of him (I have Ali G show season I&II on dvd). I guess you just have to get used to that humor.

Im use to his humor and realize what he is doing but, the hype on all website, here, myspace, television, ect.... they showed us way to much and spoiled alot of parts that would have been good.

Did anyone think Ali G in the house was funny? I thought that movie was great. Every time I watch it I find something new to laugh at. Is Borat simmilar to that type of humor?

that movie was funny as hell! i love the part near the end with the laser beam alarm...

I saw it yesterday with the guys and I'm going to see it today at AMC Forum 30 again at the 7:10pm showing. I think it was F'n hilarious and as gross as the naked hotel part was, I laughed the hardest because that's true dedication to get a laugh/disgust the audience in such a manner.

He's Jewish, so if his own people can't take a joke then oh well...

Saw this movie last night and I don't think i've laughed that hard in a movie in a long time. I could have done without a couple parts but for the most part, it was funny as hell

On top of that, I got ID'ed to see the movie. I'm even sporting a full beard right now, showed the lady my college ID, and my buddies gf who looks to be about 17 didn't even get checked lol

I agree, the movie was very funny (See Sig) and Nick getting ID'ed was also comical.

:dontknow: Am I the only one who is getting tired of this kind of shock humor? Granted, some of the things he does are funny. But, how funny is it really to get a laugh by pissing people off because you take something in a direction that they aren't typically comfortable with and keep going and going like the freakin' pink rabit bangin' his drum? Jackass didn't really go too far with this because they mainly did everything to themselves. But people like Borat, Ali-G and "Drew and Mike" seem to go too far more often than not. I can't count how many times D&M prank call someone, asking them rediculous questions for whatever reason, piss them off and then proceed to talk shit about them when they get hung up on. No wonder that person doesn't want to talk to you. The same goes with Borat and Ali-G in my head. I mean...if you were sitting at the dinner table and some dude came back from the restroom with a bag of shit asking you where you want him to put it, I'd say that's grounds for an ass kicking. [/rant]

Well it was the closest thing to gay porn I've ever seen.

Half the jokes on the movie most people didnt get, my friend and I were laughing by ourselves half of the movie.

clearly you don't get it...he's a foreigner who is use to taking a shit in a hole in the ground. they understand this and try to help him out because he doesn't know better. it's funny to us watching because we know he's more modern and civilized and the people don't.

sacha baron cohen is a very intelligent person. his jokes and the movie as a whole is deeper than just simple slapstick comedy like tripping and breaking the antiques in the store...he's like andy kaufman. most people who see this movie aren't going to get his sense of humor as a whole. it's a shame that people are so closed-minded
