Step inside for the beat-down videos. I ended up qualifying 10 out of 10, surprise, surprise! I was only .015 away from qualifying 9th, and after 1st round I was actually in 8th, but that only lasted till 2nd round where Bart got me by that .015 and I failed to beat it in 3rd round. I got paired with Louis Sylvester Jr. who qualified in 5th for eliminations.

Anyway, awesome experience, great guys, and weekend regardless of the fact I was struggling to 60ft as usual the entire weekend. Hoping to make Joliet in a few weeks for a 2nd attempt after making some adjustments I was keyed in on by the FS and CS guys.

1st round eliminations..

2nd round of qualifying..

3rd round qualifying..

1st round qualifying..

Very cool, I ran NMRA Real Street for a very long time and my friend RSWANAB(sp) ran Factory Sock for two years. I am still good friend with the guys you are running against. Great bunch of guys and gal.

I might have a few pointers for you if you want.

I knew that was you! You don't post often enough to make it easy to figure out. Yes, there are alot of great racer's out there!

I would gladly take any pointers you are willing to provide! The guys have enlightened me on a few that I need to implement for the next event, I just hope I can make the time to apply them.

So do you have any plans to make the move to REN or CS as others have since they dropped RS? You don't have to answer publicly LOL.

Thanks!

So does the car make over 300hp? JK. AWESOME!

hahaha, back to that again? I think it's like 180 or so! It was down on mph though since I never got any time dialing it in on C10. In fact it's 1st time firing on C10 was the night before leaving.:eek5: I just took a guess at what it needed in regards to fueling and spark for the C10 and had that tune burnt to a legal Diablo chip.

Thanks!

I will not be racing with the NMRA anymore. The way they dropped the RS class left a bad tast in my mouth. I am running a local series called the PTRA it is a cool little deal. I hope you enjoy it they are a great bunch of guys. Ask me questions and I will try to give you the best answer I can. Our FS car made 310 to the tire with the stock cam. I know now they have a max lift rule and run what ever you want for duration.

I understand Paul, I got a preview of that taste a year ago from someone within the NMRA in another fashion. I just couldn't resist anymore ;-) I'll hit you up for some info soon! Thanks again. Oh, and btw, last time on the dyno it put 329/353 to the ground :icon_bigg

It was a blast, and Thank you!

Well as if I didn't take enough of a beating in Norwalk I had to show up to Joliet, IL for the NMRA NMCA Super Bowl this past weekend with the same j/y engine. It went a bit better than Norwalk as I was able to go 12.006 in 1st round of eliminations, then a 12.05 in the 2nd and finally my 1st time in the 11's in Factory Stock trim came in the final round of qualifying with an 11.96 which qualified me 10th out of 11. For 1st round eliminations I slowed to a 12.13 going against #5 qualifier Jay Dold who got to the stripe .333 sooner than myself. I had a blast again, and am hoping to make the trip to BG in October! Without further adieu, here's some clips...

so what trickes did you pick up over the weekend?

Paul

A different, and not so natural way of using the clutch to stage, and launch off of the LL and 2 step. I actually was told about it in Norwalk but this was my 1st time to apply it on the track. It took me my 2 tnt passes to not instinctively launch as I have always, then I caught myself on my 1st qualifying round and actually applied it and it definitely worked better. All 3 of my qualifying rounds were quicker than the fastest in Norwalk so I'm going in the right direction, AND I didn't qualify in last this time :icon_bigg

And yes, it was a good time. I'm really looking forward to Bowling Green. I've heard that track has big teeth and the air should be awesome seeing as how it's in October. Hopefully I can pull it together to make the trip, then over the winter I'll finish my dedicated 308 for the class.

Bowling Green is a great track to race at.

So I've heard. And the air should be outstanding for October. I'm going to try to implement a few things before then, nothing drastic though.

Are you and your Dad planning on making the trip Jeff?

Congrats on running better the last time out. I ran with Paul in the NMRA (Pure Street). You'll learn a ton racing there. Good luck next time out! BG was one of my favorite races. Everyone let's it all hang out there!
