I Phone VS Samsung

I am looking for some comparison between the I Phone 5S and Samsung S4 or Note 3. I currently have an I Phone 4S and have been having a few minor issues with it until I downloaded IOS7. Now the phone doesn't work very well. After I downloaded IOS7 the phone is slower then ever and the battery life is junk. I used to be able to go a day or day and a half on one charge and now I have to charge my phone 2, maybe 3 times a day. I am up for a new phone December 1st and have been shopping around. My choices are upgrading to the I Phone 5S or a Samsung product. I was looking between the S4 and the Note 3. Does anybody have any of the Samsung products or have made the switch, and what does everybody think? I Just don't want to waste my money on a junk phone. Thanks for any advice in advance.

my i4 works pretty good with ios 7 opposite battery issue for me after I updated my battery problems went away
the Samsungdroid I had before was a great phone too I would not now which way to go next

I have found a lot of people doing factory resets on their older Iphones, then updating to iOS7. This allowed them a fresh start with the new OS instead of merging old and new. I personally had an Iphone4, which rauns like crap on ios7 and an iPhone5S which runs sweet on Ios7. I will be doing a factory reset on the 4 this weekend to see if it helps.

Already did this lol. Still runs like crap. I know alot of people with the 5S and they all say phone runs great. I hear the 5S and a different processor that helps the speed of the phone.

I have a iphone 5 with ios 7. No issues so far. Are you currently with att ? Do you have the old unlimited data plan or are you on the new tiered setup?

Something to consider if your going to be switching phones/providers

I am with sprint and have been for about 14 years now. I have different issues with sprint but I know the problems I am experiencing are with the phone. Everything was working fine and was same old until I downloaded IOS7. I have no real issues with Apple except the small screen and now slow phone. Actually until the IOS7 update it was the best phone I have ever owned.

Moto X too, forgot about that one. HTC One if you want to fork over the $650 for the Google Play Edition. I wont touch a 3rd party UI with a 10-foot pole.

HTC has really impressed me with their aggressive updating on the One. They've already committed to pushing 4.4 within 90 days. The One has been the best non-vanilla Android device I've owned yet.

I just flashed 4.4 on my Nexus 4 last night, its fucking awesome, youll love it. I dunno if this will be a feature on non-Nexus devices, but all you have to do is say "OK Google" and tell it to call/text somebody, open an app, etc. Its a very nice upgrade over Jellybean.

My Nexus 7 should be getting the OTA update any minute now. I've read nothing but good things on KitKat so far. Looking forward to it.

You dont have to wait for the OTA, download it here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images Youll need the Android SDK from here: http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html and follow this guide: http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...riants-of-nexus-7-2012-and-2013-and-nexus-10/ If you previously unlocked your bootloader, you wont have to wipe your device. If its locked, youll have to unlock it, and that in itself will wipe it.

I have an S4 sitting here, currently using a Note 3. My wife has an iPhone 5.
Once you go to the larger screen of the droids, you just can't go back to the
tiny screen of the iPhone. Really it's about the UI. My Note 3 can go over 2
days on a single charge with decent usage. The difference between the 4s and
the Note is the Pen on the Note, better battery life on the Note, Screen size,
and a few camera features.

Really it comes down to preference on screen
size and the OS. If having a good size screen is important, then the Samsung is
better. If having easy to access data (widgets) is important, the Samsung
again. If none of that matters, then it's a matter of preferrance.

Oh, and price. The S4 is free the week of thanksgiving at Best Buy with a new
contract.

Here's my battery life on my note 3.

Yeah, free up front but the bill might be $100+ per month . Grab a Nexus 5 for $350 and grab a GoPhone plan from AT&T for $60 per month. You won't be bound to any carrier, plus you'll be saving close to $500 per year... the cost of 2 S4's over a 2 year contract. You could take the savings and buy a couple more unlocked phones and save even more on a prepaid family plan.
