Ok i am in a bind. The place i use to work was a cash job. so there is nothing saying that i was working there and my former boss owes me some money. Around $700 bucks + or - a few bucks...but anyways is there anything i can do to get this money back from him. I keep asking him and asking him and he keeps telling me the same thing over and over again. the checks from the dealerships didn't come in yet. or the checks didn't clear. Witch i know can happen sometimes. But i KNOW he has the money. He just got a nice ass TV and a nice ass washer and dryer.

I am NOT the only person he owes money to. And my other bind is that he is a good family friend of mine...so thats kinda playing in the back of my mind as well.

What do you guys think i can do?

a few options..
HOWEVER you will have to claim the money to the IRS and Michigan.

1. contact department of labor, division of hours and wages and fill out a form online and turn it in.
2. Small claims.

It's up to you, but I'm guessing that $700 is NOT worth it.

You're fucked. Sue him and you're going to end up paying taxes on everything they've ever paid you.

Have a man to man talk with him and tell him he owes you the $ and you expect him to pay you. If he doesn't then just take it as a lesson learned and forget about it.

Yep, that's about all you can do. Then re-assess whether this guy is such a good family friend or not. Friends would not take advantage of you like that.
