So damn close to being able to drive this Mustang. I put the rear end in this weekend and the damn driveshaft is about 2" too long.

Where can i take it to have the driveshaft shortened? Prefer some place that you had experience with and not just "I hear such and such is a good place"

Also, quick turn around time would be nice.

the closer to Novi, the better.

Looking around for a two piece for a early 90's Ford truck. After a couple of tries ordering through the local parts stores & getting the shaft from it not fitting, decided to stop by DTS. They overhauled the existing shaft that was bent, rusted, & came in under the price for the "remans" that we wrong for size.
The turnaround time was less than five business days. The driveshaft has been installed but not driven yet. Can't see there being a problem once it's on the road.

I had a driveshaft which needed to be shortened. By the time everything was said and done, I think it was only about $50 or so more to buy a brand new one. I know places would rather sell a new one, so shortening them is expensive...

Anyway, these people made me one in one day. They are in Troy, near 15 mile......

Shaftmasters did a few for me. I think you measure flange to flange or Trans output seal to flange. I would expect a day turn around...maybe even ask if a certain day they would do a "while you wait" deal....no harm in asking!

BTW, they are located on the south end of a brown industrial building...not really visible from the road.

best is to contact them to find exactly how they want it measured

Arrow truck in detroit does good work as well, had many done there until shaftmasters opened(by former employees of arrow truck iirc)
