Had to fix a pesky water leak under the sink and found this mess silently awaiting for me..............gross.
I know plumbing is not a glorious job, but they earned my respect having to deal with far more nasty crap than just some disposal goo.

 
Yes very nasty. I work at a nursing facility and i encounter this problem often with these pipes. I once found a ladies nylon stuck down in a drain that had that nasty goo all over it.
 
At their pay scale, that just comes with the territory. Sad thing us, folks like us deal with on our own homes for free....;)
 
i found a razor in my drain two weeks ago , not sure how that got there. snaked sinks and tub everything drains good now.
 
That's nothing, and yes home owners deal with this for free....
Wait until a girl/woman uses that sink daily. I had a 18-24" long 1.5" dia snake of hair in my drain that I got to remove when I decide to change my faucet.
Catch is, I'm basically bald.
Up side of removing it is, the drain flows like a MOFO now...

I get the glorious job of cleaning out the shower drain, or else I end up standing in an inch of water while showering. A pair of needle-nose pliers work wonders to help pull Cousin Itt out of there. And then I'm good for a couple of months.
