I guess I have to move out of the "project" thread

Had the car since August '09. It's been apart twice since. The last time, it went down to a shell plus doors and hatch. The whole bottom was blasted and painted the gray color seen underhood. The light was really good the other day while I had it sitting in the yard while I cleaned in the barn, so I shot a few pix:

Collecting parts for an engine build at some point in the future. Just a mild 331. I REFUSED to touch the stock engine while it was out, because I wanted to get it back on the road THIS year!! DIDN'T EVEN CLEAN IT!! I knew if I started on it, it would snowball. There's only so much money and time available!!

Thanks all! I'm really getting the itch to do that 331... The more I look at the underhood, the more I want to fix it!

Awesome car. Mostly stock, lots of goodies. Those are my favorite!

Thanks. I'm a big fan of using OE parts whenever they will fit. Hence the Cobra brakes.
I'll have to get it on the hoist and shoot the bottom. It's looks better than the top to be honest!

Wow...that thing is full of detail! I single staged the bottom on my old 91 GT black. The car itself was 2004 Cobra Red...look awesome, but some overspray got under it taking away from the perfect shine. Still looked better than dirty, muddy undercarraige on most old cars. lol Nice work man!

I spent waaaay too much time building model cars as a kid. I guess I applied that thinking to the real one. Other than painting the bottom, the rear end, and the calipers, I just cleaned up the parts and bolted them on.

I considered black, but it's used to hide stuff for a reason. I spent a lot of time working on racecars that use an even lighter gray under the car so problems could be spotted quickly. I have one of the DIY bed liner kits sitting there. If I see the bottom getting chipped up, it will be going on. I figure when this car gets painted, the masking will take a LOT of time!!

Thanks to all for the props!! I don't consider this car to be near the quality of some of the builds I have seen on here!
