I got my dog!!

Khan came home Tuesday night about 9:30 pm. I'm so excited. It has been alot of work. There is still alot of work to come too. I'm trying to get him adjusted to living with cats and my cats adjusted to him.

It's almost like having a new born :laugh: I have to have him everywhere I go and I can't leave him unattended for his and the cats safety!

He is very interested in the cats, not in a bad way. He isn't growling or snapping at them. He just gets really excited tailing wagging, whining. He was breifly around a kitten in his last foster home, but I'm not sure if he has been around adult cats. My cats have been around dogs. It's been a while though, so they have to adjust to him too. He did sit calmly today about 2 feet away from one of the cats. Usually he gets excited they freak out and run, then he wants to chase them. He is on a leash at all times right now and I have him baby gated in a 2 room area. Which he broke down yesterday :laugh:

He had a not so great meeting with my oldest cat. She was swatting, hissing, flipping around. I have never seen her act like that before! Kinda freaked me out. I didn't think I would have to worry about the cats going after him! I was pulling him away from her. He did good, didn't snap at her or anything, but she literlay chased him to keep beating him up! Nothing like a cat chasing a 55 lb dog :icon_eek:

By the way, my wife's stupid cat is constantly throwing jabs at my dog. The cat antagonizes my dog every chance she gets. The cat weights less than 10 lbs, my dog weighs like 50 lbs. The dog get's her back by usually not letting the cat get at ground level in our house. The cat usually walks ledges, counter tops and shelves in my house. When the cat gets to ground level, and my dog sees her, off they go!!!!

The lawn was just cut yesterday! A lawn service did it. You have no idea how long it was!

Beautiful dog Shelly!! I hope he knows how good he's got it now being with an animal lover such as yourself!

Good luck with him and the cat.. they'll work it out eventually. :)

Thanks :) That's what the lady who runs the rescue said. She told him he is very lucky to have found a home with me!

I got it at K-9 pet supply in Warren. They have different sizes of them too. I'm sure you can probably find it online too. It is called a Jolly ball.
