I've got a chromecast, and I can play youtube, netflix from my mobile or tablet to the TV.
Curious if there is a way I can cast Fox sports and other apps I have on the tablet to the TV?
Youtube and Netflix have a little icon and its very simple, so simple a caveman, or me can do it.

If I use chrome from my laptop, I can also cast to the TV, but the picture is for shit.
Seems they play much better on tablet or mobile.

Do I need something other than the chromecast to do this?

What say you?

I have a hacked firestick and even did it myself, and I'm a idiot when it comes to that stuff....

It was pretty easy, you can watch movies that are in theaters and watch TV shows 30 min after they air...

So from one idiot to the next, how did you go about this? I'm not so much in for movies as I would be for a few shows I would watch if I had cable. I don't miss it but sometimes it would be cool to watch on tv instead of phone screen

Best way I can describe how I think it worked..

Edit the settings to download a 3ed party app

Download program A

Download program B through program A

??????

Watch movies...

So I'm reading over this, seems fairly basic.
Maybe so basic I can't tell if this is installing on my PC, mobile phone, or smart TV?

You can install it on anything that you can install Kodi (formerly XBMC). This includes PCs, phones, set-top boxes, and smart TVs.

Yea Kodi is the way to go. There's an endless amount of content from around the world that you can watch.

I'm waiting on this guy to release http://www.mi.com/en/mibox/#overview I plan on putting one in my room and my brother's room. I have an nVidia Shield TV in the living room, but they're $200-ish and I don't wanna drop that kinda money for another pair of them. The Mi Box should be $70 to $100, maybe half that come Christmas season. I love Android TV, it does live TV (with network TV tuner) and has a good amount of apps https://play.google.com/store/apps/collection/promotion_3000e26_androidtv_apps_all?hl=en

Does the inbox/Android TV play and catalog MKVs like Kodi does? Specifically with one central shared library on your network?
