I bet you have never seen a heli-coil this jacked up

Need some serious help here. Dont know what I did but ended up breaking a tap inside of a hole that has a 3/8"-16 helicoil in it. :jawdrop2:

How can I get this out? I was thinking that I should just use a chain/come along around the motor to get the intake to seal :gr_jest:

Weld a bolt to it.

Get a really sharp center punch and break the tap. once it is in small bits and pieces it should come out with some picking. Removing the helicoil is easy once the tap is out. Just pick a thread edge up and unwind like a slinky.

Not sure about hitting it with a hammer and sharp punch...it's an aluminum head might creat e more damage trying to break the tap as the alum will absorb an amount of the blow. And the heli coil should come out like a slinky as said above! Good Luck.

this is about the only way is going to work. either that or have it burned out on a EDM. I highly doubt a tap extractor will work.

im trying to keep the head on at all costs. I have been able to break littel pieces off the tap so that may work and I was not even using something sharp - just a tiny screwdriver

fixd! hit it with a hammer like sean said to do. not hard blows but just really sharp to try and shock it, then peeled up the helicoil.
