Holy crap!! a friend of mine (blumach1) has a full mount 550+ pound black bear in his house and i thought that was huge.. I wouldn't mess with a bear unless i had a 50bmg and i was a long ways away lol..

My dad use to hunt elephants in South Africa long long long time ago... They had to pump a few rounds of weatherbee 460's into elephants just to bring them down... And they still weren't dead and could get up anytime...

That picture reminds me of the movie "Quigley Down Under" with Tom Selleck...Doesn't he shoot a bucket at something like 800 yards??? I think that's getting far away enough for me to shoot it !
