I am thinking of using an 8.8 for my street rod, but I'd like to have an idea of how wide a disk brake 5-lug 94+ axle is. I am most interested in the width from where the wheels mount.
I have an 8.8 out of a 87-89 Crown vic that came out of a Vo-tech car that was getting scrapped. It has 3.55 gears, open diff, but complete with drums and e-brake cables. IIRC, it's 5" wider than I need, so before I have it cut, I'd like to see what an 8.8 comes out to. I think I need about 58" to have my wheels fit. They are 5x4.5" BC.
Anybody have a disc brake 8.8 that they can measure?
