How Much can a Single Wheel F350 legally tow?

I have a 2011 F350 6.7L 4x4 CC/SB with a gooseneck.

I am in the market for a gooseneck trailer to tow some equipment, but I'm not sure how much I would legally be able to tow with it.

The truck is in my business name and when I registered it the SOS put a A plate on it with a 24k sticker.

I looked up my truck and it was rated at 15,700lbs on the gooseneck.

I read a lot of conflicting information and was wondering what I can legally tow and not get hassled.

If it's in your business name better get MDOT and USDOT stickers and all that bullshit stuff... It becomes a huge pain in the ass cause of the company name... The plate is the least of your worries... Your license and plate also dictates the weight... Those weights for business require CDLs...

Moneypit is the man to talk to about this...

MDOT/USDOT are Nazis for code enforcement.

You're fucked. MSP's Motor Carrier Enforcement generate tons of revenue with people like you.
You can get pulled over and end up with 2500 worth of tickets for minor shit you might have overlooked. Got a light bulb out? That ticket used to be like $250 it's probably more now.

DOT health card, annual inspection stickers and documents, MPSC numbers, USDOT Numbers, reflective tape on the trailer in all the proper spots, hell I could go on and on.

DOT health card, biggest crock of shit ever. When my brother owned a landscaping business, I was driving the truck and trailer and was pulled over by a Fraser cop. He was for the most part, pretty cool about the stuff, but still gave a ticket for a lot of small shit. One thing he asked for was the DOT medical card, and I said I don't have one. He began to give me a lecture on why I need it, what it does, etc. I told him I'm a qualified commercial airline pilot with an FAA medical that allows me to fly a 747. Would that suffice for a qualified medical, and he said n o but he will let it slide.

I've personally loaded two 9000# tractors onto a gooseneck that was pulled by an 2011 F-350 single wheel. The guy hauls tractors all the time with it...all over the country. Can't say I know what the limit is though.

My friend that has the gooseneck trailer I told you about. Hauls it with a single wheel f-250. They also have a sierra Denali 2500. on the sierra he shattered a back wheel with something like 27k on the trailer.

Also make sure to have chauffeur license or cdl

You do not need a chauffeur license. As the others mentioned you need proper USDOT stickers and a DOT health card.

A few years back I was driving a camo 3/4 ton truck doing some load testing with weights on the bed and a trailer with steel plates behind me. I got pulled over 3 times in 24 hours by 3 separate jurisdictions, all because of the lack of stickers (on a camo development truck). Company ended up paying for the ticket. 3rd cop that pulled me over on 275 couldn't believe I was actually given a ticket.

So if a vehicle is owned by a business and has a A plate the driver needs to have a DOT card and the truck needs USDOT stickers. Is this for all the time, or just when towing?

What about a vehicle that is owned by a business like a small box truck for example, will that driver need a DOT card too with USDOT stickers also?

All the time... And yes to all...
