How do i check my trans fluid???

hey guys i have a 1988 mustang gt 5.0 manual 5 speed i need to figure out how to check the trans fluid in it or were to add some. if you know of anyway i would really appreciate it. thanks alot.

jack the front and the rear of the car level, and then take out the upper 3/8" square plug on the passenger side (right side) of the trans. There will be an identical plug at the bottom of the trans on the same side as well. Use mercon/dextron type ATF.

fill it till it starts to run out then wait for it to level off.

like hemi said, right side pipe plug, synthetic atf or even 10w30 synthetic motor oil works very well.
