I use to get stuck doing all the cutting and fitting of the small pieces.
That looks awesome. I would wait on the sealer though. Brick has a lot of salt that has to leech out. If it doesn't and you seal it you might end up with cloudy white spotted brick. But if your buddy has been doing this for 15 years check with him on his procedures.
