Hulk Hogan was on the Today show this morning talking about this and his newly released book.

He said that this kids family is suing Hogan for more than that have ever made in their lives..

exactly, he knew Nick's driving habits, he knew nick had been drinking, he knew nick wasn't the best driver..... and he also CHOSE NOT TO WEAR A SEAT BELT!!!!

i'm not saying Nick is not responsible, but John is just as guilty as nick is.
 
Thats tough to watch. Feel sorry for his family and friends, but agree with statements above about not wearing a seatbelt.
 
would it have hurt his chances? nick had his on and walked away with a broken wrist.

it looks to me like the drivers side took more damage and he was unharmed (for the most part). my guess would be that it was probably the A pillar that hit him (looking at where he damage to his head is and how the car looks) and with the belt on, he would not have gone forward as far.

no cage, yes nick had a belt on

A belt might have helped but it's to late now isn't it. That guy got into a car with a 17 year old hot shot. John was 23 years old when this happen. He knew right from wrong and wtf was he doing hanging out with a 17 year old anyhow?
 
as bad as it is, it's hard to feel bad for someone who put them self in that situation.

high power car, wet roads, 17yr old with bad driving history, had been drinking, no seat belt... i'm not saying he deserves that, but he put himself in that situation.
