@ Rice Eater.....The company I use to work for manufactured automotive lighting. The bottom line is by blacking out the reflector you/they essential removed the key piece of the puzzle. I don't believe you will have anything close to stock performance even with HIDs as there is nothing in the housing to reflect the light out.

i bought some similer to this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/UNIV...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

but again the lights suck i think my parking lights are brighter...

i just noticed these..not sure if there any good or not..but im curious now..http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/67-8...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

-if you already have the housings we can try hids... your best bet is getting my replacement housing/hid kit and i can put some lamin-x to darken them up for you. you will be very happy with the results!

exactly, no chrome reflector no light output.

I'm looking at doing something like this on my Torino. I also happen to be working on an E30 that came with the BMW ellipsoids and those are the same diameter as my stock head lights. I'm going to do an HID retrofit on the Torino using the BMW projector housings.
