Anyone ever have hernia surgery, inguinial hernia to be exact. I'm 23 and need it which is pretty
Sad but I blame the army. What to expect on recovery time and pain throughout the healing process? I'm having surgery on my right side but I'll need it on my left side very soon from what the doctor says.

Recovery is a b, no heavy lifting aka milk gallon for awhile. If u might need the left done, have them fix both at once. I had 2 right one left done at the same time.

They won't do them both same time. They said my left is pretty weak slight bulge but not big enough to have done yet.

i had one done and almost 2 years later the other. First up and around 3-4 days second 7-8 days. worst part is you have to shave and it itches like a son of a bitch, and the staples like to bind.

I had one done and it was nothing. I think I was out for like 45 minutes, but I was up and walking pretty quickly. Maybe a little discomfort, but no big deal. Just no lifting, or stairs or running, etc...Sit, relax and watch TV...Gary

Hope you got military medical records. Be sure to visit the VA clinic and collect your disability benefits. You earned it.

I had both left and right sides fixed. The first one was cake- I was back at work the next day, very minor discomfort, and I felt 100% within two weeks. The incision was about two inches long. The left side was a bit bigger, and slowed me down much more. That incision was about four inches, and I was in more pain. Took about two days to be able to get out of bed is less than 5 minutes, but once I was up, it was smooth sailing. They're easy....just dont cough or sneeze for the first few days. Lol

Mine they say they have to use the mesh in so the incision will be like 4 or 5in.

Just crossing 6 weeks from back surgery. Listen to doctors. Take it easy. I fell twice on ice in own driveway... 6 week review Thursday, hoping surgeon release me to return to work.

Good luck to you!

Back surgery in my future to. I'll be asking you about that when that time comes. L1-L5 and S1 bulging and deteriorating due to an incident overseas 2 years ago. Tried therapy and had 3 epidural's but still not doing any better.

Surgery took care of all the sciatica pain I was having. Still having lower back pain and am weak after 6 weeks... But I slipped and fell twice in my own driveway :( who knows who knows

Back surgery can go either way... I'm happy with my outcome so far. My disk was herniated and hardened.

Surgery was today, went good, have me a nerve blocker that feels weird as fuck. Hopefully back on my feet and running in no time. Then to focus on my back issues.

Y'all weren't lying about the pain right after. Pain meds aren't even touching it and the nerve blocker has just about worn off. Dam this shit hurts no mater how I lay or sit or what I do!

Need some input for who's had hernia surgery and had mesh out in. Should I have a noticeable bulge near the incision that hurts like a mother fucker when slightly moving around??? The bulge is solid, not soft. My surgery was on the 16th so it's been 10 days and everyone I know who's had it I've talked to said there's only had very little discomfort this far along.

The scar tissue can feel hard and bulge a little. The best way I can describe it is that it almost feels like a piece of rope in there. But if its red (inflamed), or oozing shit, I would call your dr., just incase an infection is starting.

you will have a feelable bludge for ever I have kevlar patches on both sides so technically I have bullet proof nuts
