Here we go again - Snowmageddon 2022

Another Winter storm being over hyped this week. Looking forward to some considerable accumulation, but have a feeling we'll end up with less than 3 inches.
Either way, got the snow blower ready!

Hyped is right. They've named it, weather channel going 24/7 on it. Expect closures to start being announce any time now. They'll be telling us how to drive, dress & act. Because of the hysteria gas stations and supermarkets will be crazy. And the best part is some weather person will go outside, in the snow, and tell us it's snowing. Why should we listen to anybody that's not smart enough to just look out the window and tell us it's snowing.

My son's school cancelled tomorrow a couple hours ago. I think people just want to shut down for an early/long holiday weekend (which I am fine with).

With that said, I have most of my outside projects done, car is put away for winter and my shovels are ready... so we probably wont get any snow.

Wait, what, it's not the end of the world tomorrow?

Crap, I already said my goodby's to everyone......

.....and some of those I can't take back! :icon_razz

Well guys your in luck. I bought a nice big new 28" 2 stage snowblower yesterday as I have been researching and planning for a few months now.

That means we will get 1-3" and I likely wont even get to use it.

The Deere is chained up with the plow on it already. Got the garage heater back from a buddy I lent it to. So I'll have a warm garage to park the tractor in when I'm done. But I suspect the tractor won't even leave the shed. I have doubts that we'll even get enough accumulation to bother plowing.

I have cleaned the driveway out twice today, the national weather service says the worst of the storm is from 7pm today until 7am tomorrow. We already got 28" before 7pm today. Got to love the snow belt life. I still have power but I am ready for no power for a few days. I will report back in the morning if we survive..... I am not worried at all lol.

At 2:30am Emmet and charlevoix county dispatch was telling people calling for tow trucks that they will be picked up in a snow cat and the car will be left there until plows can clear the roads. Otsego county pulled their plows off the roads until daylight so they had a chance to make some progress. I75 north and south in Otsego county was not passable in any way. This was a legit storm.

I cleared the driveway again at noon today, normally only takes about 45 minutes to blow the driveway and shovel the sidewalks. Today was 3 hours ...

Weather service extended the blizzard warning for another 12 hours with winds staying strong and an additional 6 to 12 inches by morning. It's going to be like when US2 was closed a few years ago. That was nuts, the beach motel was buried under a snow drift.

Not enough snow to bother plowing. The wind was the worst of it here. In total I'd say we got an average of 3 inches of snow, some drifts got to about 7-8 inches but that's all.
