I'm drivng my grand cherokee to work today and I notice a vibration at high speeds when I let off the accelerator.

I'm fairly certain the tires are the originals w/ 61,000 on them. Goodyear something or another.
I'm not certain it's the tires, as I tow my boat around once a week. I was thinking perhaps it's the tranny. It has the 4.7L with auto trans and 4wd.

the only time I can notice the vibration is at highway speeds when I let off the accelerator. If I am maintaining a constant speed or accelerating there is no vibration.

THOUGHTS?

It's the UAW's fault. No wait, its Bush's fault.

:)

61k?? Didn't you just get that thing like last year? If the tires are original its probably them. Tires do funky things when they are almost worn out, like cause vibrations. Thats my guess at least.

bought it used in February. do a lot of driving.

Bring it by the shop and lets go for a spin. Could be the pinion bearings most likely to me anyways i am thinking U-joint.

It's not your tires. If it was, your problem would steadily increase with speed, and always be there no matter if accelerating, braking or holding steady speed. Very possible a u-joint.

first things i would check are u-joints, trans mount and motor mounts.. or you can do the same thing i did with my cherokee and put off finding the vibration for 5 years
