Health food freaks....... need input..

small portion of salmon and large portion of steamed/raw veggies with some seasoning/whatever gets 'em down. The healthy fats in the salmon and the fiber from the veggies will keep you going well until the next morning. There won't be a spike in blood sugar either bc its not packed with carbs.

1;30 am Just made a beef stew and had a 1 1/2 cup of it.

1 1/2 lbs of round eye steak cubed and put into a large pot with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. browned for eight minutes.

Then 4 cups of low fat/ low sodium beef broth, 1 cup of water, 2 stalks of celery, one carrot, one onion, 4 cloves of garlic all chopped. 1/2 cup of pearl barley. 1 bay leaf 1/2 table spoon black pepper 1 tbl spoon Mrs. dash. bring to a boil. then simmer for 45 min.

Add 1 can of whole tomatos, 1 can of peas and a can of green beans. remove the bay leaf at this time. simmer for another 15 min. and serve a cup and a half. (should make six servings)

Don't take life too serious. You will never make it out alive! :pow:

Actually, I might have to try the ASRoff recipe..

Men's Health published a study done by John Hopkins and Oxford, since they had tons of people write about this...

Both studies found out eat dairy or have a protein shake before bed... Both need energy to digest but also help you sleep better since all of your energy is focused on digesting the food... They also say if you take a protein shake before bed it helps you a lot better for sleeping too... I forget the name of the ingredient in the protein shake but it helps you sleep better each night... I did it and tried it out... It does work... I slept better and when it was time to get up... I was groggy or hitting the snooze... I actually wanted to get up and BOOM get the day going...

IF you don't subscribe to MH's... Treat yourself and subscribe... Read that mag... It's worth the $12 for the year subscription... A LOT OF GOOD INFO!

Since Dairy is good, maybe my ice cream snack in the evening is good....

You could always try something like string cheese too. It's dairy and will fill you a bit. Also makes a good afternoon snack when the hunger pains are present between meals.

stay away from albacore. Significantly higher levels of mercury.

For me, it's almost always a protein shake, or a can of chunk light tuna

Occasionally scrambled eggs (2 whole eggs, 2 egg whites) with salsa or something like that

Unfortunately there is no perfect food. :(

The mercury thing has been an issue for tuna for a while. Most experts concur that one can of chunk light tuna per day is perfectly safe. But albacore has about 10x's the mercury and they recommend no more than one can per week of albacore.

I eat probably 7-10 cans of chunk light tuna per week.

Also, be careful about internet research. There are a few websites that are run by the tuna companies that claim to "dispell the tuna/mercury myth" and say it's 100% safe in any quantity.

gee thanks. Yes, hours at work, and fast food finally caught up to me.

im sure if I only did cardio and geared my diet towards just losing weight I would be down to the 200 range, but with lifting I imagine I am gaining muscleback that i lost from before. I do look alot leaner and I am down over 2 inches off my waist.

Didnt mean it as an insult, just surpised. I havent seen you in a few years an you're always active so you didn't strike me as someone who would gain alot of weight that fast. :dontknow:

Yeah better to have muscle mass and not be at your "ideal" weight.

lmao, I wasnt insulted, I am just sad it happened. IM not sure how it happened actually. I have a physical job. But im sure with the stress at work, long hours, eating once a day which consisted of a triple cheese burger hurt everything.
