i have trickflow twisted wedge heads on a 302 right now and have a 351w im putting them on i want head studs but i know from past experience putting 351w heads on a 302 i needed step down washers do i need the get the holes drilled out to fit the 1/2 inch studs to work

Aren't aftermarket SBF heads already setup with 1/2" bolt holes?
 
All you need is the standard 1/2" washer. The step down ones are for use with the 302 prob the ones you have on there now unless you didn't use them. So a 351w head stud kit would work just like it says it would

like mentioned all aftermarket sbf heads have 1/2" head bolt/stud provisions already
