Haunted house recommendations?

My son wants to go to one and I don't which are worth the time or the money. He's 14 and we live in Roseville. Looking on line all the reviews are spotty, so just looking for first hand thoughts.

If you really want to make it memorable, take a 3 hour trip to Niles:

Make a mini vacation out of it - drive out, spend the night. If the weather is nice, Lake Michigan is nearby.
