I was looking at getting a 97-02 Grand Prix GT or GTP for a DD come next spring after my Grand Marquis gets me through another winter. Did the make a 2 door GTP? I have been searching Auto RV and autotrader adn can't find one. I love the 2 door look but is the power worth the look? I wasn't really planning any performance mods besides a CAI.

What would you guys do? 2door gt or 4door gtp.....or do they make a 2 door GTP. Cause I'd be all over that. Even if I had to drive to WI/OH/IN to get it.

I think they are older like before 2000?
I have the Bonne SSEi and love it. I didn't plan on to many mods but find myself unable to resist.
 
Yes they made them in 2 door versions. FYI, your insurance would be better on a 4dr version. If it has 2 doors, it is automatically classified as a 'sporty'. Even with trucks! My wife had a 2dr Jimmy and we went to a 4dr Blazer and the insurance was less!!

Ya, that's why I was thinking GT over GTP. I know I'll end up with like 325hp and driving it once a week with a junk S10 as a DD

Insurance can't be that much more though. I'm under 25 and have 4pts. I pay up the ass either way.
 
i have a 4dr GTP, 300whp as my daily driver. no problems what so ever, 30+mpg on the highway, mid 20's in the city.....just happens to be for sale also:icon_mrgr

I can vouche, this car is a pile :pow: :wink: j/k very nice car, and he babies it, it is really disgusting. I have ridden in the car numerous times and I still havent felt the potential power of this thing. He rarely if ever beats on it :pow:
 
I had a 2000 GTP Daytona 500 replica pace car and LOVED the car! The 2 doors were available until the most recent body style, which I believe was 2004 or 2003 :dontknow: Check out www.migpc.com, and see if they have any for sale on their site......

my wife has a gtp (i secretly did some mods) oops honey you need this new pulley on your car the old one is rusty :dontknow: :laugh: , i beat on that car everytime i get in it! Car runs great and gets great gas mileage, and it's a 4 door for the kids:icon_mrgr .

Its possible that i still will have it since im going to arizona for 4 months so the car is just getting stored...

200hp for the GT, 240-260hp for the Supercharged depending on what series the motor is. Guys make over 300hp to the wheels no problem with small bolt ons.
