Got some test passes in @ US131 on the new BFG's, Explorer intake and TeamZ relocated uppers.

That place was a MAD HOUSE after 8 when all the Fast and Furious rolled in! Wow, not doing that again unless I get there earlier. Stinking traffic on 96! Anyway, not bad for adding over 100lbs to the car over the winter and downgrading from a Typhoon to a stock Explorer intake. I actually got the car back in the 1.5 60's but only on the very 1st pass. All the rest were 1.61-1.62's leaving at 6100. The 1.59 60 I'm not sure where I left at since I got up there and energized the 2 step and it damn near stalled so I just had to quickly manually get the revs up before the launch. So on the 2nd pass I thought I fixed that, well, I did, but I also mistakenly dropped my rev limit to only 5900 so the 2nd pass it actually launched, but couldn't rev!! Damn I hate new stuff sometimes!

Without looking at weather conditions in comparison, the switch to the Explorer intake only effected the very top end. My times and mph at the 1/8 were still in the high 89's and low 90's while my 1/4 trap suffered slightly. I'm attributing this to it wanting to pull clear to 6500 or so through the traps and the explorer just doesn't want to, where as through the 1-3 shifts it never sees over 6-6200.

All in all I can't really bitch since it is a j/y engine with ALOT of miles, well, except to the highschool guys that were checking it out and said it had a supercharger, I quickly corrected them :lmao: On clean passes it was also consistent as hell with an 11.97, 11.98, and two back to back 11.94's.

Now to get the tune dialed in on C10 for next months race in Norwalk so I can get my doors blown off :icon_wink

That's gettin' it done sir! Great combo. I love seeing the little flame pop when you take it to the limiter before launch. Nice work!

Looking good!! Consistent high 11's !! How does it feel down the track with a cage now?

You know, the only thing I notice is that it transmits everything from the rear end into my steering wheel. Other than that, I don't really notice anything.

Have you had yours out yet? Wait, probably not because every time Stanton says they are going to run they cancel huh? Pretty bad when I have to drive double the distance to get a few hours of testing in.

What trans are you running?

T5-Z built by Kevin @ The GearBox in Garden City. It's going on it's 4th year of my shenanigans without ever being apart! Prior to this one I was breaking stock t5's about twice a year somehow or another. All of the parts and pieces I purchased from him to fix those prior to this one I could have bought a few of these!

Thank You. This is the 1st year I've ran a 2 step, my buddy came back after that pass with huge eyeballs and just saying FLAMES, FLAMES, dude, your car shot fireballs out the pipes!! :icon_bigg

I'm really hoping I can finish up my P-headed 308 that I've been slowly updating in my other thread "just a little I've been doing on the P's" or something like that. This engine wasn't meant to still be in here, but no-one told my finances that apparently.

Thanks Jeff, it's probably best you had to work. That was a long drive for the few passes before all hell broke loose down there. Nice track no doubt, but would be better under different conditions for sure.

Yes, I would have just multi-quoted but I'm out in the shop yanking parts off the car looking for ones that don't return to the earth when I toss them in the air ;) and I'm on the laptop, my signal is for shit, so I'm lucky to have been able to make it through all these without losing it........SO BACK OFF!

Interesting.. It is needed though :).

My car still isn't done. Not sure how long my waterpump gasket leaked.. bolts are rusted into the timing cover etc.. its a pita.. fixing an oil leak on the intake manifold as well.

wish I would have known about Kevin, my T-5 has been at Liberty for 6 weeks and they are just getting to it.

I think that's what I remember you posting about.

Why the intake change?

Looking to tinker in some heads up racing that specifies this as one of the legal intakes. This is also what my 308 that's still in the works is for but that's obviously not going to be ready for next month so I'm going to run this old thing, I'll just be WAY off the pace.

Awesome man!! congrats! car looks great!
Thank You!!

Back when I was ordering all the stuff from the GearBox I didn't know of Liberty and once I had used him several times I had confidence and he set me up at a price that couldn't be beat. That's an awful long time! Are you having it pro-shifted?

Wish I was, new house, wedding and a new dog this year, can't afford the good stuff. Just a basic rebuild and hope it will handle 475 at the wheels for a year or two.
