Gone to an Alignment shop and walked out getting screwed?

The Belle Tire at 75& 11 mike is another location to avoid at all costs as well. They tried to pull the same crap on me when I brought my Yukon in for an alignemnt. They write up an $1,100+ repair bil for all new Co trol arms , tie rod ends and other stuff.....too bad they didn't actually look at the truck......maybe they would have realized all those parts has less than 10k miles since I had just replaced them. I feel like they just looked at the odometer and figured they could up sell me from just a basic alignment.

So is it true the mechanics work on a commission or incentive program? ??something beyond flat rate that's makes them pull this crap?

In any other profession this would land you in jail, somehow Belle Tire gets away with it.

I was looking into getting a job at BT before, from what I remember, mechanics/techs are paid flat rate, and get a cut/commission from parts as well, so yeah, lots of shady shit can and does happen

I find it funny a lot of these places won't install customer supplied parts.

yet I see napa auto parts trucks or decker auto parts delivering to jakes auto, meineke, midas etc...

Cause the shop is getting a 50% markup on those parts, dipstick:slap:

Not only that but the customer used to bring the wrong parts half the time and if the car was torn down, it would tie up the hoist all day while they were running around town trying to find the right parts.

Their own warehouse supplier....that the general public can't buy from like keystone

They're all the same. Midas/Meineke/Belle Tire/mom & pop/etc. all do the same thing. They have a normal warehouse supplier that they use to stock parts, but as soon as they need something they don't have they go to some local store and buy on account.

It has been a long time since they have done one for me, but Gerry's Tire here in Saline has treated me well.

I'll second Gerry's Tire in Saline. They are the only ones that ha e properly aligned my chevy 3500 in addition they know how to balance tires, unlike almost everyone else I've ever dealt with.

Funny how everyone knows how the system works, but cant align a car......
If i had my old FMC rack, i could align the fuck out of a car but being an operator engineer (glorified excavator driver) pays better!...lol

True statement
