I have a deal worked out on a 2016 enclave but My aunt is offering a friends and family pin. The dealer is saying I have to get her GMS employee discount number. He says they are different. I have no idea as I have never leased a GM car. Can anyone explain this to me. please

*Eligible employees and retired employees are able to sponsor their spouses, children, grandchildren, parents, stepparents, grandparents (including in-law and step), siblings (including full, half and step), stepchildren, stepgrandchildren, mother-/father-in-law, sons-/daughters-in-law and brothers-/sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Same-sex domestic partners (SSDPs) of eligible participants also qualify. Eligible SSDPs are treated the same as spouses, and therefore, their eligible family members are also included.

There is a GSF and GMS number that can be generated depending on which category you fall under. The dealer is probably trying to get the bigger discount for you but that is not always available. I thought the family was better than the friends one and you should be able to get the GMS number from your aunt (according to the details posted above). If you give your aunt your birthday, zipcode, and confirm that you do not work for the government, she can get you the discount code in a few min. It should be a series of letters & numbers with a dash and then the GMS at the end since nephew falls under the family group there. That number is all the dealer needs.

Thanks. Now I have to figure out why my aunt will not give me her Code.

Only reason not to is she doesn't have any left or doesn't want to use one for you, which would seem kind of shitty. I believe it's 4 employee/family codes per year (to be shared with the list above) and 12 (one per month) supplier/friends discounts that can be given to anybody.

Not a current employee, but I believe the employee needs some info on you in order to generate the code. As I recall it needed DoB, last 4 of SSN, etc. It's not like they just have codes sitting there that they copy/paste one to you.

I think she even gets more than 4 per year. Don't feel bad if you don't get one from her, my brother-in-law told me he would. then when I worked a deal on a truck he told me no and said he doesn't like giving them out. Family can really suck sometimes... good luck.

Below is what I see. I have 5 left and I think I've used one this year, so maybe we get 6 instead of 4..? Either way, generating a code is as easy as entering the info below and clicking submit.

* Purchaser's Date of Birth:

* Purchaser's Zip Code:

* Purchaser's Relationship: Choose a relationship

RyeLou aren't You my long lost uncle? My Aunt is 90 and doesn't remember her niece my wife. We called her son to see if he knows anything but he has yet to call us back. Fucking car is likely going to be sold.

I'm 32, so unless we have one of those awesomely messed up families (which isn't out of the question) then I don't think so.

That's the one thing I never understood with the program. You can pass it to aunt/uncle and niece/nephew, but you can't pass it to any cousins. I get that the line has to be drawn somewhere, but that seems like an odd place to draw it.
