Glock 43 or S&W Shield

Chambered in 9mm....I am looking for real world advice on either weapon...trying to decide which one to purchase. Both feel equally good in my hand.
 
I have a shield as well and really like it. I paid $349.99. I think you can find them for that with some looking. Got mine at dunhams but have seen them elsewhere at that price.
 
A lot of people have been loving that shield 9mm.

I haven't shot one yet, but it's on my list.... And a Glock has never been on my list lol.
 
It's all personal preference. I sell both. The shield does come with an extended mag that the glock doesn't. Size wise they're just about the same. Just buy what you like and what feels better to you. Neither is better or worse then the other.
 
a better cost comparison is g43 vs the upgraded "performance center" shield.

I shot a few different Shield 40's and they always work great. I wouldnt change a thing about them. oh and i like the thumb safety for that extra piece of mind while holstering.

look up colion noir's comparison on youtube. i remember him comparing them in detail at a range.
 
I've had my Shield for five years or so now, put several thousand rounds through it, I like it. Could it use an Apex trigger or an ATEi trigger job, sure, but that's being picky. I need to order the MagGuts kit for the mags and bump up the capacity a round and two.

My wife has the G43, it shoots well, is a couple ounces lighter than the Shield but she got the Tarran Tactical base plates to get the capacity over 6+1.

The stock trigger on the shield is tota garbage and smith should be ashamed they shipped a gun with that crap.

I added the Apex trigger kit, carry it stuff. Whatever they call it. HUGE MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT. But I still don't carry it.
I got mag guts for the 43 and shield
 
Shoot both, purchase the one that YOU shoot better. Not the one someone else tells you to buy.
 
I have the Performance Center Shield in .40 cal and even with the upgraded trigger I would say it's 'acceptable'...but not great. Personally, I'm with Anthony...the regular Shield trigger is garbage.
 
A dealer out here is saying there will be a S&W rebate starting next month, looks like $75 for shields.
