Anybody very familar with german shepards. I grew up with them but this one is very aggresive. She will not let anyone arounnd me even my kids!!! This just happened a day ago. she's 10mos

Ive got one but shes pretty laid back. If the dogs acting funny at all around kids, I would say time for a new dog. Not worth the risk

i have a puppy shepard she is 3 1/2 mos old she is great with kids, laid back, thats crazy maybe she is going to go into heat or something and maybe she dont want to be bothered, im thinking about getting my dog fixed as soon as i can,i hear it calms them done alot

good luck, hope its just a stage she going threw cause it would suck to get rid of her, but saftey frist fam frist thats most imp, keep us posted

out of all the dogs ive have threw out my life my shepard is by far the best

When my new male got aggressive towards my female I just swatted him and then chased him through the house yelling at him untill he was scared. That seemed to work cause he hasn't done it to her since, not even a little... i have never liked the "timeout" approach...

This is Tom's GF, Brenna. I have been around germans all my life and my mother showed germans. That is something you have to nip in the butt now because it will get worse as it grows. My boss specializes in germans. If you have any questions feel free to ask. You have to make your family the leaders of the pack. That everyone is above your dog.

x2...Ive have Sheppard's all my life...Your dog is trying to establish its position in the pack. Its up to you (pack leader) to set the order. Simple things people over look or think is cute cause behavioral problems.
You and your family always eat first. No exceptions, and no feeding from the table. Their food goes in their food dish only.
No allowing the dog on any furniture or beds. Furniture and beds are for leaders in the pack. Dog is last in the order.
When your dog does something undesirable, a simple nudge from your knee or noise from you to let the dog know its doing wrong. Example: you come home from work and the dog rushes to see you and rub on you, and will weasel it way in front of your spouse or kids. Do not allow this. Dog is last. Mine is required to stay in its crate till I say so...and sometime I make it wait a hour or more. no exceptions.
Be consistent. do not ever vary from the routine of disciplined.
I suggest you read some of Cesar Millans books for advise (like nuttsgt suggested). His technique's are spot on.
