Gear swap vs ET drop

Sometimes it seems like only about the half the people you meet who've changed their rear axle ratio see an ET improvment. While the magazines usually see an ET drop on just about any car they change the rear axle ratio on...

Who here has gone to a stiffer rear gear and making only that change, seen their ET drop? What was your ratio change and what was the ET drop?

If you change your gear you need to have traction to show improvment.. and the gear should be match to the engine and trans package.

alot of people go to a bigger gear and dont run a good tire and lose e.t due to shity 60's

I noticed that the 4.10 is a lot more fun on the street compared to the 3.42, however I spin and hop so much now at the track, it runs the same ET.
