We recently installed our L92 Stage 2R MAX camshaft in a customer’s 2009 G8 GXP (6-speed manual). We’re very happy with the results. The car was baselined stock and made 351 RWHP / 360 RWTQ. When finished, it made 490 RWHP / 442 RWTQ…. A gain of 139 RWHP / 82 RWTQ! We haven’t had a chance to do any fine tuning on the street yet due to the current weather conditions, but I’m confident it will drive very good for having a camshaft this large.

Modifications were as follows:

Livernois Motorsports CNC Valve Job
Livernois Motorsports L92 Stage 2R MAX Camshaft
Livernois Motorsports LS-Series Dual Valve Spring Kit
Includes: Livernois Motorsports Dual Valve Springs, Titanium Retainers, Valve Spring Locators, Locks, & Valve Seals)
Hardened Pushrods
Livernois Motorsports Ported Factory Intake Manifold & Throttle Body
Kooks 1 7/8" Longtube Headers & X-Pipe w/ Cats
Factory Catback
Rotofab Cold Air Intake System
Powerbond U/D Pulley
ARP Head Bolts
GM MLS Head Gaskets
NGK TR6 Spark Plugs
Synthetic Oil Change w/ Filter
Professional Installation
Livernois Motorsports Dyno Tune

Could not have said that better myself Cory

I wonder with a Catback and Test pipes if it would have hit 515whp...

Thats awesome

:rockwoot: Nice.

That cam doesn't sound like it would work to well with an auto, correct?

That seems like a ton of parts and labor, would it be cheaper on a G8 GT Auto to go supercharger+exhaust?

Well done regardless.

That cam wouldn't work very well with auto. You would have to do a larger size converter, and as you can see from the graph it didn't make very much power under the curve which is what an automatic heavy sedan needs. It looks like a tad under 200rwhp/rwtq at 3K rpms...thats not going to make for a very strong pulll from a roll in an auto or just half pedaling it having some fun.

On a GXP your paying for the name. A GT with a converter will be quicker than the 6 speed in a straight line anyways. If your going to daily drive it or drive it a lot I'd reccomend just bolt ons with a Magnacharger, maybe a small blower cam. They make great power and are reliable. :buds:

This cam would not work well with an auto unless you had a converter. With a GT, you would also have to notch the pistons for clearance. We have GT's with our stage 1 cam package running 11's and the stage 1 cam is much smaller.

The cost for this package was around $6,999.00 installed and tuned. We offer the Magnacharger package installed and tuned for $6,599.00.

Thank you,

Rick
