I have my car for sale on Craigslist, and at least twice a day I get emails from people asking "Is your item still available and whats the condition?" If I respond I get this or some variation back.

"oh that cooI Im ok with the condition as stated in the post and the
price.I will be making a quick purchase and also will want you to
delete the it from the site. Im presently out of state on vacation with
my family ,but i going to make all arrangement including the
shipping.Im going to use a private shipping agent once the money has
been paid.
Do you have a paypal account so i can transfer the money their .I
have my paypal account connected to my bank account so i can easily
pay direct from there to your if you do have one or visit their site
www.paypal.com

am also going to pay the paypal commission so the full amount can be
credited to your account.Do you have the title in hand ?Let me know"

I usually just ignore them or respond that its a cash only local sale. I decided that I would have a little fun with one.

This guys name was Rev. David Dein This was my response to him :

Well, Since I see your a reverend, I feel I have to be 100% honest with you. There is a small issue with the car. I live near a pond. I have a lot of ducks in my yard. There was one in particular that just loved my car. It would sit there for hours just quacking away at it. I couldn't understand it. Well, one day I came home and forgot to roll the windows up and I'll be damned if that duck didn't get into the car and defecate all over the interior. It was all over the place. I pretty much got all of it but there is still a small odor.

I ended up trapping the duck and have kept him as a pet. He really seems to love that car. I feel that I cannot separate the duck from the car so I will be including him with the sale of the car. I have about three months supply of food for him and a nice cage.

So, you will need to arrange for a live animal transport as well as the car transport. I will not separate them. Quakers (the name I gave the duck) could not handle the loss of his favorite car.

Please let me know if this is OK and we can set up the payment.

His response:

This ok Andrew. Thanks for been honest. You can go ahead and set up the
account and get back to me with the email connected to the account and
your full responseit.

God bless you

Yes, He agreed to take the duck. Then my response:

Ok, Great! Quackers will be so happy in his new home.

I use my work email for paypal. It is:

[email protected]

Please let me know when the funds are sent.

These are all paypal scams. I would have no problem with a real buyer actually asking about the car. They are asking about my "item"

Nice!! My friend put her truck on craigslist, and a similar situation came up. Luckily its fairly easy to tell who is interested and what is fake.

I have my Bolens tractor on Cl and I keep getting (Like one a day) emails saying "Where is it?"
Thats all the emails says. I know it's a scammer because the location is in the add multiple places.
I'm sick of CL it's become such a hassle with scammers, insulting lowballers and finally flaggers.

The goal hear is not to try and get you to give up information like paypal account information, but rather to get your email address. Once you respond, your fucked. Thats why so many people on craigslist say phone calls only, and spread out their numbers with irregular spacing and letters. Email accounts are easily hacked. Ive had a couple of email addresses skiped and taken over completely. Luckily, they were emails set up for things like craigslist only, so their was no credible information linked to the accounts.

I'd rather give out a random hotmail account that I would setup just for craigslist than them having my phone number.
