Today I got into my car and it just cranked over without starting..Sprayed starting fluid in her and she started up but stalled out. Checked the Schrader (sp?) valve on the fuel rail and had no fuel pissing out of it (Key was on)....15 amp fuse was good and the AutoZone guys even gave me a new fuel relay to see if that was the problem, didnt help.....I let the car sit for 1/2 hour, cranked it and the bitch started right up and ran great.
I spoke to my mechanic at work and he says that it's an indication the fuel pump (in the tank) is on its way out.
Has anyone had this kind of problem with there fuel pump?

VERY common. That's what fuel pumps do on the way out. If it does that again, whack the tank with something and it'll probably start working. Get it replaced before it strands you somewhere.

Could be the wiring to the sending unit is going bad. Intermitent pump function is a good indication of a bad harness plug. Could also be a bad pump as well.
