so im replacing the fuel tank/sender/pump, fuel lines, and the brake lines. I can get the supply and return fuel lines for $124 shipped on ebay, it includes the lines from front to back with the rubber lines built in and even includes a fuel filter. im buying the parts to bend the brake lines myself, which ive done before on an s10, but it would be much cheaper if i could do the fuel lines myself. was thinking i could bend the lines and use fuel injection hose and double clamp it right on the new lines and then figure out how to connect it to the sending unit? everything else is going to be brand new so i dont want to half azz this and have it leak later on. would i have to flare the line? has anyone done this before?

It's TBI and the pressure is only 13 to 18 pounds in those systems...nothin major like 40 to 100 in MFI set ups. only place you'll have an issue is where it attaches to teh TB unit, they use an O Ring style fitting if i remember correctly. but i think you can buy those in 18" sections for repair at autoparts stores. SO you either spend the 124 and you're done, or you play the hunting game...and time is money game with bending lines and the aggrivation of extra fittings and couplings. If it were me...124 isn't that bad really.

hrm yeah i forgot that tbi was lower pressure. i would rather do the $124 premade ones but they wont be here til next week if i order them and i was going to work on it this weekend. its in my parents driveway so i didnt want it there too long.

so what do you recommend i get from the hard line to where it connects to the sending unit? rubber fuel injection hose with 2 screw clamps on each end? i think i can get away with not touching the lines from the filter forward. i believe the premade ones stop in that area as well and dont go all the way to the tbi unit.

if the fittings on the ends of the hose look good, you can cut the crimp off the hose, and clamp the EFI hose to them, and clamp the hose to the new line at the frame, I have done several this way, never had any issues

though $124 is a good price, on my old 88 chevy, it cost about $100 to make up the lines, since I had to buy the "repair" sections to get the correct fittings for the fuel filter, though I can make them now, I have the flare tool

I have the hydrualic forming tool to make the flares if you want to borrow it.

thanks guys! i went ahead and ordered the lines, i dont want to mess with flaring and all that and would prefer this truck to last a while.

thanks for the offer!

does anyone know what the third line is going to the sending unit? is there 2 return lines? or does it go to an evap system in the front? the sending unit on top of the tank has 4 tubes coming out, one for the vent line by the filler neck, one main bigger fuel line, and 2 smaller lines, which at least one is a return line.

3/8 feed 5/16 return and 1/4 vent is typical.

that should be a 1/4 vent line have seen a few that were 5/16 though.. The feed and return have screw on threaded fittings.

I have a pair of the fuel lines off my 93 Sierra. They are a year old, OEM GM lines. These are the lines from the sender to the frame mounted fuel filter. I also have some of the TBI lines, but they were modded slightly. Let me know if you want them. I'll let them go cheap, they are in very good condition, maybe 2000 miles on them, if that. Standard Cab Long bed if it makes a difference.

yeah i have an extended cab so it will most likely not work. plus the new lines will be here today or tomorrow. what tbi lines do you have? like how far back? what did you mod on them?
